Busy South Shore Medical Office on Queens/LI border seeks experienced Medical receptionist with medical billing experience to serve as personal assistant/administrative medical assistant for the medical director/physician of the practice - strong organizational skills, personable, able to multitask and handle heavy phone work in addition to knowledge of Microsoft office with typing skills - requires own transportation - full time with need for flexibility in hours with days starting as early as 8am and as late as 8pm depending on the volume and the given day (weekly schedule varies). Credentialling experience required. The applicant will work closely with the medical director, help in work flow and "shadowing" the director throughout the day maintaining his schedule and being responsible for helping the daily schedule run smoothly.
This is a "hands on" position with work ranging from menial tasks such as getting coffee for and running errands for the director to very advanced tasks such as helping with the choreography of busy patient hours and coordinating staff and departments in conjunction with the medical director. This job entails aspects of being both a personal assistant, yet at the same time serving as an "administrative silent partner" to the medical director and practice owner and helping them fully run the business. This job is not only full time but will require well in excess of 40 hours a week with a 24/7 level of availability and constant committment to the job - this will include overtime as necessary, working nights and weekends if necessary and taking work home as needed. One of the primary roles of this position is to relieve the current medical director and owner of the bulk of their current administrative responsbilities that are "non medical" to enable them to focus on direct patient care and reducing their own administrative work to facilitate an improved quality of life and family time.
